Well, I have been working on a new web site also titled the Moonlite Monologues which I will link to this blog and it will contain information relating to this blogs subject matter, sex and brothels. I believe America does need a proper sex education because history shows us that ignoring the subject or pretending it doesn't exist just isn't effective. Knowledge and education are whats needed here. I plan to do research to find out how and where all the misconceptions about our sexuality got started and see if I can understand how our views and opinions on sexuality and all it encompasses became so distorted and why they remain this way today. It simply boggles my mind how free thinking people can hold to such medieval thoughts and ideals relating to a something as human as breathing is, I guess we should thank god that someone did not take offense to breathing an decide that was a bad thing! And our sexuality is as natural or should be as natural to us as our breathing. I can't emphasize enough the importance of knowledge and education in this area to keep everything in proper perspective.
The fact that we do demonize sexual activity and pretend our sexuality does not exist or is not a normal part of life. The fact that we treat the thought of intelligent discussion regarding sex and refuse to properly educate our children are the reasons our children are burdened with unwanted teenage pregnancies and are spreading sexually transmitted diseases at epidemic proportion. It's natural for their growing minds to seek answers as their adult hormones start to kick in and when they don't receive answers, when they aren't educated to the facts of life they seek answers in other area's and reaching out blindly and in ignorance they find themselves facing unwanted pregnancy or worse they end up with a sexually transmitted disease and some of those diseases have no cures and are deadly. The fact that parents would force that later mentioned option onto their own children rather than teach them properly about their sexuality simply blows my mind. It's like the blind leading the blind and we have such better options available to us these days.
I also want to mention here that I enjoy researching history and have a special interest in brothels and their part in history and Nevada is a great place for this since the gold rush and the glory days of the Comstock load in Virginia City brothels have played a very large part of that history. And not all of it is bawdy and sexual in nature, some of the working girls in this area actually performed heroic acts, they were charitable, brave strong women who helped tame the west and often risking their lives to do this, they deserve to be recognized for their bravery and for their positive contributions to society so I hope to bring you some interesting stories and factual information regarding these subjects on the new web site, I think you will truly enjoy reading. I'll keep you posted on the site's progress, right now I am hoping to launch it within the next two days if all goes well and I hope you will visit it and send me some feedback and your opinions of it.
